Money and Happiness

Daniel Kahneman and Angus Denton posted a famous study, suggesting that money can buy happiness but only up to a point. They stated that as income increases, people tend to become happier because they can afford security, comfort, and less financial stress. However, after about $75,000 a year, emotional happiness seemed to stop increasing as much. This suggests that money matters most when it helps people to feel financially stable. However, newer research highlights that the relationship between money and happiness is more complicated; happiness can continue to rise with income for some people, especially since money can provide more freedom and control over life. So, money can buy some happiness, but it can’t guarantee fulfillment, love, or meaning in life.
